WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — RIMPAC is the world's largest maritime exercise held every two years in June and July by the US Navy and based in Honolulu in the US state of Hawaii.
"The biggest challenge that I have right now is, I know there is increased interest of other nations participating, but I am not just quite sure how we can cramp more ships into Pearl Harbor [in Hawaii]," Swift stated on Tuesday.
This year 26 nations are participating in the exercise, including China.
In 2016, RIMPAC, which was scheduled for June 30 — August 4, welcomed for the first time military forces of Brazil, Denmark, Germany and Italy.
