MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Failures in the work of French intelligence led to the deadly attack at the Bataclan concert hall, George Fenech, head of the parliamentary commission inquiry into the incident, said Wednesday.
"Were there no intelligence lapses, we could have prevented the attack at the Bataclan concert hall," Fenech was quoted as saying by Radio France Internationale (RFI).
On Tuesday, Fenech called for an overhaul of the intelligence services, as the inquiry concluded that the security services were unable to prevent the attack at the Bataclan concert hall.
On November 13, Islamic terrorists conducted a series of coordinated attacks in the French capital, killing 130 people and injuring over 350, many critically. The Islamic State jihadist group (ISIL or Daesh), outlawed in Russia and many other countries, claimed responsibility for the attacks.
