Iraqi Army Launches Offensive Against Daesh in North of Anbar Province
BEIRUT (Sputnik) – The news follows reports of US warplanes, on a June 28 mission to capture Bukamal in Syria, being diverted to another target near Fallujah, Iraq, at a critical moment during the mission.

“A few days ago, coalition forces have ceased providing fire support to the [Syrian] Democratic Forces advancing on Manbij,” the source said.

The report, published by The Washington Post earlier in the day and citing US officials familiar with the events, claimed that the coalition’s diversion led to the failure of the rebel offensive.
