MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The typhoon has a radius of 200 kilometers (124 miles) with maximum wind speed near its eye reaching 209 kilometers per hour, Taipei Times newspaper reported.
It is expected to move across central Taiwan while the islands of Penghu, Kinmen and Matsu are also likely to be affected throughout Thursday and Friday.
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) estimated that Nepartak is dropping approximately 19 centimeters of rain per hour with a potential one meter (3.2 feet) of rain in central Taiwan.
