The United States needs to finalize the location that its troops will be deployed to in Poland in support of NATO’s forward presence in Eastern Europe, Acting US Assistant Secretary of Defense Elissa Slotkin said in a briefing on Friday.

"The actual specific location, it is between couple of different places, we will need to finalize that with the Polish government," Slotkin stated.

Slotkin said the battalion, which will serve under the NATO hat, will arrive to Poland by mid-2017.

Obama is currently on a visit to Warsaw for the latest NATO summit taking place on July 8-9.
