"On the commission it was absolutely unique atmosphere, atmosphere of the solidarity, transatlantic solidarity, unity and solidarity with Ukraine. We had very frank, open and constructive talks between two friends, partners and… de facto allies..," Poroshenko said.
Moreover, NATO has showed that it stands firmly with Ukraine by approving assistance package, which will provide a great support to Ukraine's defense, Poroshenko added.
"It was also important to meet to get from NATO a strong commitment on support to Ukraine in increasing our defence capabilities. The comprehensive assistance package, that was unanimously voted in the [NATO-Ukraine] commission, was very ambitious document… This is a unique package never ever in the history of NATO such a solid and substantial support for mid term perspective was provided to a partner country. It provides consolidated material and practical assistance in forty areas, mainly addressing defence capability of Ukraine, security sector and defence sector of my country," Poroshenko said.
He noted that the assistance will be provided through eight special trust funds.
