17:00 GMT 11.07.2016 (Updated: 17:20 GMT 11.07.2016) According to the Federal Criminal Police Office of Germany (BKA), the authorities were only able to identify 120 suspects and only 4 perpetrators were convicted nationwide, even though the total number of attackers was estimated at 2,000.
BKA chief Holger Münch blamed this tendency on what he called "investigation hindrances," arguing that there was little visual material to help identify the suspects.
