The former Haven Fort Hotel is a Grade II-listed building on the headland between Broad Haven and Little Haven, and has magnificent views over the Pembrokeshire coastline in Wales. It is also home to a very unique and strange story… involving aliens.
The current owner, a lady named Francine Granville was studying abroad, when in 1977 her late father wrote to her saying that her mother, who has passed away, had spotted aliens outside her window one night.
"I was studying in Spain at the time, and my mother was at home with my father. [Mother] was busy with guests until quite late. They eventually went up to bed around 1:00 am."
"She went to sleep and woke up as she could hear a buzzing noise, she thought she left the gas boiler on. So she went downstairs to turn it off and she could see bright lights from her window. She looked out and saw a cigar-shaped spacecraft and out came these figures with long arms and legs. She didn't believe in anything that was supernatural. But this changed her mind… We wondered what it was [that she saw]. Then over time, we tried to think of a logical explanation for it," Ms Granville told Sputnik.
Francine described how the sighting had left her mother very afraid and shaken up; this was also no isolated event, other UFO landings had been spotted by other members of the community as well. In total, 14 pupils from Broad Haven Primary claimed to have seen the UFO landing in the area, with the headteacher seemingly backing their claim at the time. The children even produced drawings of what they saw.

"My mother was very afraid… she was too afraid to tell anyone, but she told my dad, and he wrote to me in Spain.
"When I returned home I heard that others had also sighted these aliens. A farmer had apparently seen strange figures on his land and some school children said they had also seen bright lights and unusual figures," Ms Granville told Sputnik.
The weird alien activity didn't end there. One autumn night in October, Francine said she has seen a pulsating orange light over an island nearby called Stack Rock.
"I saw the orange light and it looked like it came from a space craft. I thought it had vanished into the sea. But my neighbor told me she saw it land on the island," Ms Granville said.
Now that Francine has decided to put the property up for sale, her memories of this unique experience have left her feeling quite nostalgic as she bids farewell to a home that has had so many memories.
"Yes I will miss it here, I love the house and the position, it's just that at my age it's only going to get harder. The older you get, the more you don't want to move. It's better that I do it now as later on will be difficult. The last guests stayed here five years ago and it's shame that the property isn't used for people to enjoy. It's a nice little investment for someone and if they decide to use it as a hotel again they will have a prize gem on their hands," Ms Granville added.
