"It is extremely concerning that Angela Eagle has been the victim of a threatening act and that other MPs are receiving abuse and threats. As someone who has also received death threats this week and previously, I am calling on all Labour Party members and supporters to act with calm and treat each other with respect and dignity, even where there is disagreement," Corbyn said in a statement published on his party's website.
Corbyn added that he condemned any violence and threats that could undermine the democracy within the Labour Party.
Eagle resigned from Cobyn's Shadow Cabinet on June 27, following the UK vote to exit the European Union. Corbyn said he would not step down from the party's leadership post despite losing a no confidence vote among his fellow party parliamentarians after the Brexit result.
