India, China Set to Announce Mechanism to Counter Extremism
CRCC, one of the world's largest and most powerful construction groups, has indicated its interest in bidding for 350-400 billion Rupees in contracts (US $5,215-5,960 million) in India.

The state-owned Chinese enterprise is a global leader in the use of advanced cutting-edge technology and has expertise in not only the design and construction of railways, but also long span bridges, highways and large-section tunnels.

According to a Ministry statement, NHAI Chairman Raghav Chandra spoke with the CRCC delegation about the various projects it has lined up with the state-run developer, like the upgrading of two-lane highways and construction of expressways.

"They will be participating in hybrid annuity, build-operate transfer (BOT) and engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) models," Chandra said.

"The meeting was successful, as both parties promised to share the details of policies, procedures and models of constructions which will enrich and further benefit the Indian experience and expertise in the sector," the statement added.
