Liz Truss was appointed as the first female UK Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice, according to official statement.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Liz Truss has been appointed as the Untied Kingdom's new Lord Chancellor and Justice Secretary, the UK government said Thursday.

"The Queen has been pleased to approve the appointment of Rt Hon Liz Truss MP as the first female Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice," the government said in a statement.
