BERLIN (Sputnik) — A truck attack during Thursday’s Bastille Day celebrations in Nice claimed 84 lives and left around 50 more between life and death, according to the French president.
"Security measures in Germany will be correspondingly changed…German security services are making every effort to prevent terror attacks in Germany. There is no guarantee this will always work," de Maiziere said in Berlin.
Three German nationals – two students and a teacher – were reportedly among the victims of the Nice assault. A German Foreign Office spokeswoman told Sputnik earlier they were working closely with French authorities.
