MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Spain has adopted measures to strengthen its border with France after 77 people were killed in an attack in Nice, acting Spanish Interior Minister Jorge Fernandez Diaz said Friday.
President of the Regional Council of Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur Christian Estrosi said that 77 people were killed and 42 others were gravely injured on Thursday night, when a truck rammed into a crowd watching Bastille Day fireworks in Nice.
"It is evident that reinforcement measures on the border have been adopted," Fernandez Diaz said as quoted by La Sexta television channel.
The official has also called for a meeting on 07:00 GMT on Friday to evaluate the terrorist threat in the country.
