Trump’s VP Pick Pence Most Extreme in Generation - Clinton Campaign
15:36 GMT 15.07.2016 (Updated: 11:04 GMT 06.08.2022) Donald Trump’s choice of Indiana Governor Mike Pence as his Vice Presidential running mate is the most extreme pick in a generation, the Hillary Clinton’s campaign office said in a press release on Friday.
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – It also noted Pence signed an anti-LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) law as Governor that "legalized discrimination."
"Pence is the most extreme pick in a generation and was one of the earliest advocates for the Tea Party," the release stated.
Eventually Pence had to revise the law because it "alienated businesses, caused boycotts, [and] lost investments."
The statement said Pence led a fight to defund Planned Parenthood while serving in the US Congress, he opposes a federal minimum wage and is a longtime opponent of comprehensive immigration reform.
Earlier in the day, Trump selected Indiana Governor Mike Pence as his running mate. Pence was first elected Governor of the US state of Indiana in 2013. He also served in the US House of Representatives from 2001-2013.
