A group of Republicans opposed to the nomination of presumptive candidate Donald Trump attempted to change convention rules. The attempt was defeated, however, leading to shouts from both supporters and opponents. Seven state delegations were needed to force a roll call, Trump opponents only managed to secure six.
While nine states has submitted signatures to support a roll call vote, three of these states did not have sufficient signatures.
The convention is set to officially select billionaire Donald Trump as the official Republican presidential nominee on Tuesday.
