ATHENS (Sputnik) – Thus, Greece’s next elections will be held in accordance with the current laws. The change in electoral law, supported by 179 lawmakers, will take effect two elections from now.
The draft bill was supported by Greece’s ruling left-wing Syriza party but was heavily criticized by the opposition. It aims to cancel the 50 bonus seats given to the party that wins the most seats in the national elections and lowers the voting age by one year, to 17.
