68 Russian Athletes Banned From Rio Olympics - CAS
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Earlier on Thursday, CAS rejected the claim of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) to the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), thus upholding the suspension of Russian athletes from the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

"With regard to the CAS decision, we are very saddened. The appeal that the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) and 67 athletes have filed was meant to prevent the regulations applying collective responsibility to persons who have a clean reputation and no disciplinary violations," Mutko said.

The International Olympic Committee said it would explore legal options ahead of deciding whether to ban the Russian national team from the Summer Olympics in Rio next month. An IOC spokeswoman suggested the decision would be forthcoming within a week, while several reports indicated the decision could be made in the coming days.
