Over 300 National Nuclear Energy Commission specialists will be preventing terror attacks and risks of radiation exposure during the Rio Olympics.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Brazil's National Nuclear Energy Commission's (CNEN) personnel will work at venues during the Olympic games in Rio de Janeiro to prevent terror attacks and risks of radiation exposure, security coordinator for Olympic and Paralympic Games in Brazil Lilia Belem told Sputnik.

"In case we suspect [use of] dangerous substances, we have specially trained units of firefighters, as well as units of chemical and biological and radiological protection, that will be additionally strengthened by military units and National Guard's forces, which will be constantly on duty near Olympic venues," Belem said.
