EL CALAFATE (Argentina), (Sputnik) — Countries all over the world urgently need to work out global initiatives to update anti-terror strategy as old methods are not relevant any more, former Argentinian President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner told Sputnik.
"I believe there is not enough leadership in drawing another strategy for this [anti-terror] struggle. If we keep applying old methods, invasions in other countries and their bombing, the world will suffer more and more," Kirchner said, speaking to foreign media at her Patagonian estate.
Living in a very complex world, where there is no clear strategy in the fight against terrorism, lays responsibility on global powers, the former president noted.
According to Kirchner, the modern-days terrorists are lone wolf, against whom traditional methods of struggle are ineffective.
"Present-day terror aims to make people feel insecure wherever they go," she added.
Europe has been rocked by a series of violent attacks perpetrated by Islamist terrorists. One of the most recent attack took place in France's Nice on July 14, when a truck rammed into a large crowd celebrating Bastille Day, killing at least 84 people and injuring over 300.
