MOSCOW (Sputnik) — On July 15, a military coup attempt took place in Turkey and was suppressed the following day. The Turkish government has accused Gulen and his followers of having played a key role in the attempted coup. Gulen has denied the accusations.
"Companies which sponsor Fetullah Terrorist Organization and provide financial resources to them will be identified individually. Investigation will be opened about them. They will be closed or necessary procedures will be applied on them," the official said Sunday, as quoted by the local Anadolu news agency.
A total of 13,165 people have been detained in Turkey after a military coup attempt, Turkish President Recep Tayyp Erdogan said Sunday. He added that a total of 934 schools, 109 dormitories, 15 universities, 104 foundations, 35 health institutions, 1,125 associations and 19 unions belonging to the so-called Fethullahist Terrorist Organization have been closed down with their assets seized by the state.
