MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The statement urged travelers to allow extra time for train journey to and from the airport and to check with train operators for any further information.
"Due to an earlier line side fire there are delays on train services in and out of Gatwick," the statement on the airport’s website said.
According to earlier media reports, two firefighting crews arrived at the tracks where the fire broke out near Gatwick earlier on Tuesday. According to the National Rail operator, the fire was caused by a technical fault.
