MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russian and US military officials held on Tuesday a videoconference addressing flight safety during combat missions in war-torn Syria, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
"The sides discussed additional flight safety measures in the Syrian airspace," the ministry said in a statement.
According to the statement, the Safety of Flight Memorandum of Understanding agreed between Moscow and Washington on October 20, 2015, has proven its high effectiveness in preventing combat flight incidents in Syria.
"The Russian and US officials agreed to hold next flight safety videoconference at the end of August.
