MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani will discuss in Azerbaijan next month the situation in Syria, Iraq and a surge of terrorist activity in Europe, the Iranian chair of the Russian-Iranian intergovernmental commission said Wednesday.
A trilateral summit will be held in the Azeri capital of Baku on August 8, Rouhani’s press office said last weekend, confirming earlier indications of the meeting by the Iranian deputy foreign minister.
Iran’s Communications Minister and head of the Iran-Russia Joint Economic Commission Mahmoud Vaezi, on a visit to Moscow with his delegation, told RIA Novosti the meeting would address the situation in Syria, Iraq and terrorist activity in Europe.
