PHILADELPHIA (Sputnik) — US Senator from Virginia Tim Kaine was officially nominated as the Democratic party’s pick for vice president in a Wednesday vote on the floor of the Democratic National Convention.
“There being only one person, the Chair will entertain a motion to suspend the rules and nominate Tim Kaine by affirmation,” Congresswoman Martha Fudge announced at the convention.
Two-thirds of the delegates voted in the affirmative for Kaine to be Hillary Clinton’s running mate.
