MOSCOW (Sputnik) – According to a new poll conducted by the Belgrade-based Institute for European Affairs, 49 percent of Serbians deem the Russian model of society suitable for Serbia, a local newspaper reported.
The survey results will be published in full on Thursday, the Blic newspaper reported on Tuesday.
Almost one third of respondents (29 percent) and as much as 59 percent of people aged 18-29 said Crimea should be recognized as part of Russia.
Also according to the poll, 53 percent of respondents believe that Serbia should continue to pursue membership of the European Union.
As much as 9.8 percent of respondents aged 18-29 and 13.2 of seniors over 60 stated that they would like to see Serbia become part of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
Eighty percent of Serbian citizens believe that Serbia should not recognize Kosovo's independence, even if recognition were made a precondition for EU membership.
