WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – The defeat of al-Nusra Front in Syria is only possible with assistance from Russia, US Special Presidential Envoy for the Global Coalition to Counter ISIL (Daesh) Brett McGurk said at the Aspen Security Forum.
"We might be able to do some things in a very precise way against Jabhat al-Nusra which would be in our interest because Nusra is a major increasing threat to us, it is directly linked to al Qaeda. However, for this to happen the onus is really on the Russians," McGurk said on Friday.
