MOSCOW (Sputnik) — A 5.8 magnitude earthquake has struck off the coast of Indonesia, the  US Geological Survey (USGS) said.

The underwater earthquake occurred at 06:40 local time (23:40 GMT), nine kilometers (5.5 miles) off the coast of the southern Sumbawa island, the USGS said on Sunday.

No tsunami warning has been issued and no casualties or damage has been reported.
