WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The poll results suggest that the position of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump with regard to Russia could hurt his chances of winning votes, the polling firm argued.
"By a 43 point margin voters say they're less likely to vote for a candidate if it's perceived Russia is interfering with the election to try to help them, and by a 23 point margin they say they're less likely to vote for a candidate seen as being friendly toward Russia," the Public Policy Polling survey stated.
In the past week Trump has argued that US-Russian relations would improve if he is elected president. He also affirmed on Sunday that the people of Crimea prefer to be a part of Russia, contradicting the US policy that does not recognize the 2014 Crimean referendum to rejoin Russia.
