MOSCOW (Sputnik) — China calls on the international community for greater coordination in the fight against terrorism and intends together with Russia to boost practical cooperation in the field, China’s Ambassador to Russia Li Hui said Tuesday.
"The level of joint anti-terrorist training and anti-terrorism combat potential is constantly growing. In the future, together with Russia and the relevant parties we intend to continue to enhance the practical anti-terrorism cooperation, to fight against terrorism, jointly safeguard peace and stability in the region and in the world," Li told reporters.
According to the ambassador, recent terrorist attacks that hit Europe and Asia signal that terrorism is near, and the global powers should unite in the fight against the threat.
"Terrorism is a common enemy of entire humankind, and the fight against terrorism has no national boundaries, joint efforts are needed from the international community," he added.
The anti-terrorist forces should pull together within the United Nations, according to Li, thus the international community should implement the relevant UN Security Council resolutions, intensify cooperation to combat cross-border traffic of terrorists, eliminate channels of financing and fight terrorism in the Internet as well.
