TALLINN (Sputnik) — The Estonian instructors will be deployed in the province of Anbar where the Iraqi army is carrying out an anti-Daesh operation and are expected to engage in the training program provided by the US-led anti-Daesh coalition as part of the OIR for six months, the statement added.
"Estonian servicemen will partake in the Operation Inherent Resolve [OIR] targeting Daesh terrorists. They will not be directly involved in fighting, they are in charge of training local soldiers, police and border patrol troops," the statement said.
The OIR has been launched by a coalition of more than 60 nations since 2014 in an effort to eliminate the Daesh group outlawed in the United States, Russia and many other nations in Iraq and Syria.
