MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit Azerbaijan on August 8 to discuss regional issues as well as energy and transport cooperation with the Azeri and Iranian leaders, the Kremlin said Tuesday.
“On August 8, 2016, at the invitation of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit Baku to take part in the first trilateral meeting between the leaders of Azerbaijan, Iran and Russia," the Kremlin press service said.
Putin, Aliyev and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani are expected to discuss the pressing issues of international and regional policy, and the prospects for practical energy and transport cooperation, the press service added.
Separate bilateral talks with Aliyev and Rouhani are planned during Putin's stay in Baku.
