But despite the friendly production rivalry, Godzilla has been growing bigger as the years went on.

Tokyo has been a bustling city since the 17^th century, but architectural and economic limits have meant that the sky wasn't always filled with skyscrapers. When Godzilla made its debut in 1954 the capital's skyline was far lower and less dense.

So if you were to place the 1950s Godzilla in to the present day Japan, he would find his sight severely impaired due to the ever-increasing urban jungle.
