NEW DELHI (Sputnik) — The Cabinet’s Security Committee gave a go-ahead to send a missile regiment to the line of contact along India’s Arunachal Pradesh state, sources told the Economic Times newspaper.
The regiment will reportedly have 100 missiles with "trajectory maneuver and steep-dive capabilities" to conduct mountain warfare, according to the outlet.
BrahMos is a short-range supersonic missile developed jointly by India and Russia. It has been in use by the Indian Navy since 2005. The missile has a range of 180 miles and can carry a conventional warhead of up to 660 pounds.
