RIO DE JANEIRO (Sputnik) – The flag raising ceremony was held on Wednesday, as Russia awaited the final official International Olympic Committee (IOC) panel ruling in the disqualified athletes’ appeals.
The 2016 Summer Olympic Games will be held in Brazil’s Rio de Janeiro from August 5 until August 21.
Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) President Alexander Zhukov expects that 270-280 Russian athletes will take part in the Rio Olympics.
