WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The US forces have no partners on the ground in Syria's Saraqeb in idlib province, which has allegedly been attacked with toxic gas, Operation Inherent Resolve spokesman Army Col. Christopher Garver said in a briefing on Wednesday.
"We certainly have seen a wide variety of weapons being used against those rebel forces in those areas," Garver stated. "We have not partnered with anyone in those areas."
International media reported on Tuesday that a helicopter dropped toxic gas on Saraqeb, with Syrian National Coalition (SNC) opposition group blaming the incident on forces of President Bashar Assad.
Syria has been mired in civil war since 2011, with government forces loyal to Assad fighting numerous opposition factions and extremist groups.
