TEHRAN (Sputnik) – Iranian authorities executed 25 people from Kurdistan Province, sentenced to death for being affiliated to the Jama'at al-Tawhid wal-Jihad extremist movement, a source in the prosecutor's office told Sputnik.
"25 terrorists from the province [Kurdistan], found guilty of carrying out terrorist plans in several Iranian cities, have been executed," the source said.
The execution took place in the Rajai Shahr prison located west of Tehran.
According to the source, the terrorists made bombs, organized assassinations and kidnappings. Among their victims were both military personnel and civilians.
