MAKHACHKALA (Dagestan) (Sputnik) — Four members of the so-called Makhachkala illegal armed group have been detained in Dagestan, an official from the republican branch of Russia's Investigative Committee said Thursday.
"A criminal case has been opened against four detained Makhachkala residents, suspected of providing logistics and financial support for an illegal armed group, as well as joining an illegal armed group," Rasul Temirbekov told reporters.
According to investigators, the suspects joined the so-called Makhachkala militant group operating in Dagestan in 2009 and have been providing militants with food supplies, transportation, shelter and money until the present.
