MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Ukrainian authorities have yet to give a response to Russia on its request regarding Russians imprisoned in Ukraine, the Russian Foreign Ministry's Human Rights Ombudsman Konstantin Dolgov told Sputnik.
"In this document, the Foreign Ministry also asked for specific information on the number of Russian nationals in prison and other detention facilities in Ukraine. There has been no response yet. According to the information we have, hundreds of people could be detained, charged under political articles related to the internal conflict in Donbas…we expect that the Ukrainian will not delay responding to our request," the diplomat added.
According to Dolgov, the Russian Foreign Ministry sent a note to the Ukrainian Embassy in Russia on June 28 addressing the lack of information from the Ukrainian side on Russians detained on its territory.
