In late June, "How I met tetanus", a popular group on the Russian social network Vkontakte with followers numbering in the millions, held a competition in which participants had to take unusual photos of themselves in the most unpredictable places in an extraordinary manner.
The first place prize was either a trip to Kyrgyzstan or 15 thousand rubles (about $226 or about €203). The runner-up would get movie tickets for two, while the contest's third-place winner would get a week’s supply of noodles.
Needless to say, participants began taking photos of themselves in all sorts of bizarre places, from morgues and display refrigerators to planes in the air and electric chairs.
Two enterprising brothers from Chelyabinsk Region posed for the competition photos in a swamp. In several photographs, one of them is dressed up in a smart costume surrounded by office accessories such as a desk, paper and a notebook.
“I really wanted to take the first place,” one of Nazarov brothers told Sputnik. “However, now I have other plans, but I will try my best to travel to Kyrgyzstan.”
Users went wild over the “student in a swamp” shoot, and began to Photoshop the faces of celebrities and politicians into the picture.
Unfortunately, the boy placed second and only got movie tickets. However, at least he can share the prize with his brother. After all, he was the one to photograph the second place winner.
It is still unknown whether the first place winner will set off for Kyrgyzstan or take the money.
