MOSCOW (Sputnik) — One in every three adult UK internet users has undertaken a "digital detox" at least once in response to their perception of how the internet is negatively affecting their personal and working lives, the communications regulator Ofcom revealed in a study on Thursday.
"We have seen that four in ten internet users believe that they spend too much time online… When asked about the last time they had purposely gone on a digital detox, overall, a third (34%) of internet users said that they had ever done this, while one in ten said they had done so in the last week," the organization said in its Communications Market Report 2016.
The report also showed that faster internet access has contributed to the problem of user addiction. The research was conducted among 2,025 UK adults and 500 teenagers.
