"Hillary Clinton leads Donald Trump 49 percent to 38 percent among likely voters," a Franklin & Marshall College poll revealed. "Her lead is a bit larger among registered voters, 48 percent to 35 percent."
Additionally, respondents were more likely to favor Clinton's ability to handle foreign policy challenges.
The poll also noted that Pennsylvania has a "sizable number of white voters," whose presidential preferences are considered important in the current election.
Poll respondents were evenly divided on whether Clinton or Trump is more trustworthy and honest, and on which candidate "has the ability to fix the country's economic problems."
With 20 electoral votes, Pennsylvania is an important battleground state in the US presidential election. Candidates must secure at least 270 electoral votes to win the election.
