Referring to the hard work being done by the Railwaymen in running the huge railway network, Suresh Prabhu said that this song will reflect the commitment and dedication of millions of railway employees.
In a message, Railway Board Chairman A. K. Mittal said that the ‘Rail Geet’ will work as a motivating force and will deliera sense of belonging to the vast fraternity of railway workers.
This is the first time that a ‘Railway Song’ of this kind has been composed for Indian Railways, one of biggest rail networks in Asia.
“The ‘Railway Song’ is meant [to prompt enthusiasm among] the vast working force and establishes a connection with the general populace at large. It is believed that this song will motivate people and unify them for the common objective of making Indian Railways the best railway system in the world. This song will reflect the ethos of railway system, which is hailed as the lifeline of the nation and an engine of growth,” another member of the Railway Board, Anand Mathur, told media.
The ‘Rail Song’ was composed by noted Music Director Shravan and was sung by acclaimed singers Udit Narayan and Ms. Kavita Krishnamurti. It was written by former railway officer Satya Prakash.
Indian Railways is a state-owned enterprise and is one of the largest railway networks in the world. The modernization of the railway network is a priority for the present government and to achieve the objective, India is working together with various countries.
