WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – Speaking at a rally in Green Bay Wisconsin, on Friday, Trump said "We get on with Russia and we knock the hell out of ISIS [Daesh terrorist group]."
Trump has repeatedly stated that Washington should have god relations with Moscow in order to defeat the Daesh terrorist group, banned in range of counties, including the United States and Russia.
Russia and the United States are engaged in separate military operations against Daesh in Syria.
Syria has been mired in civil war since 2011, with government forces loyal to President Bashar Assad fighting a number of opposition factions and extremist groups. On February 27, a US-Russia brokered ceasefire came into force in Syria. Terrorist groups such as Daesh, as well as Jabhat Fatah al Sham (also known as Jabhat al-Nusra, or al-Nusra Front) are not part of the deal.
