BAKU (Sputnik) — Relations between Moscow and Tehran have been developing in best possible pace over past two years, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said Monday.
"Bilateral relations with Russia had optimum pace during past two years due to determination and will of our leaders," Rouhani said at the trilateral summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
Rouhani cited Iranian cooperation with Russia and other countries on the nuclear deal and the process of the Syrian conflict resolution as "a valuable example of regional cooperation."
The three leaders met in the Azerbaijan capital of Baku earlier in the day.
