WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton broke her promise to deliver more jobs to upstate New York when she represented the state in the US Senate and failed to prevent a further catastrophic loss of jobs there, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said in a speech on Monday.
"Hillary Clinton pledged 200,000 jobs for upstate New York, the Washington Post writes… [but] upstate job growth stagnated during her tenure with manufacturing jobs plunging 25 percent," Trump told the Detroit Economic Club.
Trump predicted that if Clinton is elected to become the next US president, she rapidly approve the 12-nation Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) free trade agreement despite her current public opposition to it.
"The next betrayal will be the Trans Pacific Partnership… If sent to the oval office, Hillary Clinton will enact the TPP… A vote for Hillary Clinton is also a vote for the TPP," Trump said.
Trump also noted that that if he was elected president, he would "jump-start" the US economy, and added that doing so would not be hard once the correct policies were implemented.
