MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Earlier in the day, Gazprom sent a request to Ukraine’s Ukrtransgaz transportation system operator to increase the gas transit volume in connection with the Nord Stream project repair, as both lines are stopped for scheduled maintenance on August 9-17.
"Gazprom promptly increased the volume of the gas supplies after receiving confirmation from the Ukrainian side on the readiness to accept the gas for future transit," the Russian company said.
Uktransgas said it was ready to increase the transit of Russian gas by 20 percent, conditional to Gazprom's providing necessary pressure in the gas transport system.
