WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Jones surrendered to police negotiators after an hours-long standoff in Sebastian County, KFSM-TV reported.
Earlier on Wednesday, Jones shot Hackett Police Chief Darrell Spells and Sebastian County Sheriff’s Deputy Bill Cooper on a local highway.
Jones fled to a nearby mobile home, where he reportedly fired shots at a police robot before peacefully surrendering to police.
Cooper remains in extremely critical condition at Sparks Hospital in Fort Smith. Spells was grazed by a bullet in the head, but was treated and released from the hospital.
