Muslim scholars enrolled in the new ‘anti-terrorism' course at the madrasa will be taught about what terrorism is and how it is spreading in the name of religion. They will also be taught how terrorists are misusing religious texts and teachings to spread hatred and terrorism. Muslim students will also be taught about the different terrorist organizations and persons associated with it and how they are operating.
"Terrorists across the world are misusing the Islamic religious texts to validate their sinful acts and poison young minds. The basic objective of the ‘anti-terrorism' course is to counter the propaganda of terror groups. It will also train the young mind how to stay away from these elements," Head Convenor and Spokesperson of Dargah-e-Ala Hazarat, Salim Noori, told Sputnik in an interview.
He further added that, "Students will also be taught about social media and how the terrorist elements are using these platforms to influence the young and innocent minds. There will be an emphasis on how Daesh sympathizers are active on social media and are using the platform to recruit people to join."
"Our objective is to ideologically defeat the dangerous designs of terrorists," Salim Noori told Sputnik.
The two-year anti-terrorism course is basically divided into two parts, namely Sufism and Wahhabism. The Sunniyat Jamia Razvia Manzar-e-Islam madrasa has selected 15 Muslim scholars and they will be trained to become muftis. Accordingly, the madrasa is planning to train 15 muftis each year and these scholars will give their significant contribution in the fight against terrorism.
