A series of six blasts hit Thailand’s resort areas on Friday morning, leading to at least one death and injuries, local media report.
Two explosions occurred in the southern city of Surat Thani, two on the Phuket Island, and two in the Hua Hin resort, according to Thai Rath TV.
In Surat Thani, one person was killed. In Hua Hin at least four people were wounded, Thai Rath TV said. Another one of the four injured has died later at the hospital.
All blasts have struck near police stations in about one hour.
The Thursday explosions in Hua Hin occurred when bombs, reportedly hidden in plant pots, were detonated within about half an hour of each other by mobile phones. The police have managed to defuse one of the bombs in Hua Hin.
Over twenty people, including ten foreigners, were injured and at least one person was killed by the Thursday blasts.
On Friday, Thailand celebrates Her Majesty the Queen’s Birthday.
