MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Eurostar workers will suspend their strike starting midnight on Saturday as further talks between the UK Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) work union and the rail company are scheduled to be held, the RMT said in a statement on Friday.
"Rail union RMT has confirmed that the current strike action on Eurostar has been suspended from midnight tonight to allow for further, detailed negotiations after some progress in talks this morning," the statement reads.
The first of the four planned strikes kicked off earlier on Friday as the union demands changes in shift patterns and called on operator Govia Thameslink to provide better working conditions for employees.
